In this session Arista engineers will 'go deep' on Layer-2 architectures and discuss how to build a stable and reliable L2 only network using STP, LACP, and MLAG.
With the virtualization and server ops teams demanding workload portability and the desire to put 'any server on any switch, in seconds' having the skill-set to design and build a reliable L2 network without introducing blocking or complicating the architecture is key.
This session will also dive into the L2 to L3 hand-off and characterize the challenges around Large/Flat L2 network designs based on metrics often ignored such as: ARP table limitations, IP Host routes, and default gateway availability/reachability.
