As Vice President of Business Development and Alliances, Ed Chapman joins Arista with over 20 years of networking experience within the Data Center, Switching and Cloud markets. Prior to Arista, Ed held the position of Vice President of New Products and Cloud Strategy at Riverbed Technology and previously worked for Cisco Systems where he was Vice President of Product Management for the Nexus Data Center Switching and MDS Storage networking product lines. Ed has also developed strategic marketing alliances with EMC/VmWare, IBM, Hitachi Data Systems, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Verizon, AT&T, and Amazon Web Services.

Ed received his B.S. in Business Administration, Systems Analysis and Design from San Diego State University-California State University.


Mark Foss

Area Vice President, International Sales

A 15 year networking industry veteran, Mark Foss joined Arista Networks in 2007. He is responsible for Arista’s global sales channels, international sales, and corporate business planning. Previously, Mark was Director of Product Management at Cisco Systems, overseeing the Catalyst 4500 and 4900 product lines. Prior to that, he managed marketing and channel operations for the Catalyst 5000 and 6500.

Originally from Canada, Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary.


Douglas Gourlay

Vice President, Marketing

As Vice President of Marketing Douglas Gourlay is responsible for product and solutions marketing, communications, and the strategic alliances of Arista Networks. Prior to joining Arista, Doug was the Vice President of Data Center Marketing at Cisco Systems where he held key roles in sales, product development, and marketing. Doug has filed or holds more than 20 patents in networking technologies.

Prior to his work in the technology sector Doug served as a US Army Infantry Officer.


Jeffrey Hirschman

Vice President, Hardware Engineering 

Jeff

Jeffrey Hirschman has been designing hardware in high technology companies for over 20 years, including more than a decade in the networking industry. He was the founding hardware engineer at Arista, and leads the teams responsible for the design, and hardware development of the Arista platforms.Prior to Arista, he was an engineering manager in Cisco Systems GSBU (Gigabit Switching Business Unit) where he developed and managed key elements of the Catalyst 4000 roadmap. He joined Cisco through the acquisition of Granite Systems. Before Granite, Jeff designed ASICs for NeXT Computer and Firepower Systems and wrote software for Bell Labs.

Jeffrey has an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.


Ken Kiser

Area Vice President of Sales for Service Providers

Ken Kiser is responsible for a world-class service and cloud provider organization, and developing strategic long-term relationships with customers and partners. Prior to joining Arista, Ken spent a decade at Foundry Networks and then Brocade through the acquisition of Foundry. During his tenure he managed large sales organizations responsible for both Service Provider and Enterprise customers. Previously Ken was an early stage employee at Force10 Networks, CacheFlow / Bluecoat and Bay Networks. He is a frequent speaker at both conferences and trade shows.

Mr. Kiser holds a B.A. in both Finance and Computer Information Systems from James Madison University.


Christophe Metivier

Vice President Manufacturing and Platform Engineering

Christophe has a twenty-year track record of bringing to market successful products and innovations in the networking, optical and computer industries. Prior to this, Christophe was at Cisco for more than 15 years. He held several leadership roles as VP/GM of the Catalyst 4500 platforms, VP of Engineering for the 6500 System and General Manager of the Transceiver Module Group where he drove the 10G optics form factor transition. Christophe was one of the first 4 employees at Granite Systems in 1995. Previously he worked in the Computer Science Department at Stanford University on caching architectures and distributed systems.

Christophe holds a MSEE from the University of Toulouse in France.


Christopher Schmidt

Area Vice President, US East Sales

A 12-year networking industry veteran, Christopher Schmidt joined Arista Networks in 2008 as a Director of Sales and was responsible for the company’s rapid growth in the financial services vertical. He now heads up the business planning and sales execution for the eastern US area. Prior to Arista, Chris was a Client Director at Cisco Systems responsible for global sales at accounts such as Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase. Previous to entering the technology field, Chris was a sales consultant for minimally invasive procedures at Boston Scientific.

Originally from New York, Chris holds a B.S. degree in Marketing and Management from Siena College.
